WHAT: Monmouth Park will be hosting the first ever "Armed Forces Day"

In honor of those who have served in the United States Military, Monmouth Park Race Club and Monmouth Park have teamed up to offer a special day saluting members of the military on “Armed Forces Day”, June 4th, 2011 beginning at 10:30 a.m. The general public and all members of the military are encouraged to attend this special day filled with spectacular exhibits, music, a “Fly Over” and, of course, exhilarating Thoroughbred Horse racing.
The “Armed Forces Day” events are free to all Vets and Military with valid ID. For the general public there is a nominal racetrack grandstand admission fee of $3 and clubhouse admission is $5, children 12 years old and under will be admitted free. General Parking is free to all Vets and Military and $2 per vehicle for the general public.
Live Thoroughbred Racing starts at 12:50 p.m.
“Armed Forces Day” scheduled events include:
● Black Hawk Helicopter, Landing at approx. 10:30a.m. Saturday June 4th, 2011 (Rain date Sunday June 5th, 2011) Tours of the Black Hawk will be available;
● Military "Fly Over" after the 3rd Race of WWII and Vietnam Fighters;
● Honor Guards from Army, Navy, and Coast Guard;
● Displays from the Army, Navy, and Marines;
● Antique and Military vehicles;
● Info Age Science History Learning Center;
● The National Guard Militia Museum of New Jersey;
● American Recreational Military Services (A.R.M.S.) ***
● Music and equipment supplied by NJs Americas Most Wanted Band as well as performances from The Chorus of the Atlantic, Shamrock & Thistle Pipe Band, Ocean Township High School Chorus, as well as several local bands on the green/bandstand.
*** A.R.M.S. is a 501 public charity founded in 2003 by a group of volunteers who began by soliciting donations to be shipped to the troops oversees. They will be accepting donations on this day.
